Christmas Eve

Hey guys!!1 It's CHRISTMAS EVE!!! Christmas Day is only a few hours away and I am sooo excited :D *dances around* This year we will be spending Christmas at my grandparents' house and it's going to be so much fun! (Hopefully I'll be able to do a blog post about it)
So traditionally in Jamaica we have what is called Grand Market Night on Christmas Eve. Everyone gets all dressed up and goes out and hangs out with friends, have a couple drinks, walk around the town, do a little last minute shopping and just chill for the night (most people get home at 5am on Christmas Day yikes!). My parents have been taking my sister and I to Grand Market for as far back as I can remember, we used to go see the pretty Christmas lights and go to our favourite place in the country Manchester Shopping Centre where Fontana Pharmacy is (I absolutely LOVE this store).

Since we've grown up we've been going out on our own and they carry us home when we're ready. We just walk around and chill with friends and do fun stuff like that LOL. However, THIS year we have decided to stay home. I guess we're getting older :/ I just wanted to stay home and rest an spend time with my family this Christmas Eve and maybe this year I'll be able to wake up and get ready in time to get to church early.*fingers crossed* I guess my little outing this morning helped to tire me out as well. I was out and about with daddy this morning and I had a little snooze session in the mid-afternoon LOL #typicalToni

One fun thing today though is that I purchased the L.A. Girl Lip Paint in the colour Tempt at Fontana Pharmacy! I can't wait to try it out! (Go check out their website http://www.fontanapharmacy.com/) I'm convinced that I spend 90% of my money here :/ oh well .

To me, Christmas doesn't feel like Christmas unless I go to church in the morning and I know I feel that way because that is how I was raised and I just love going to church on Christmas Day, being able to see my church family and wish them a Merry Christmas just gives me joy and to share in the Love Feast...it's amazing :D

Anyway guys, I'm going to end this post here! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed Christmas this year and I wish you and your family all the very best for the season :D
Love, Toni

Sixth Form Association Christmas Dinner

Season's Greetings! It's Christmas Time and we can feel it in the changing weather and all the cheerful people around us. We can see it in the beautifully decorated houses and shops through the lights and wreaths and all the other 'Christmasy' things.
Traditionally, the Sixth Form Association (SFA) of my school hosts a Christmas dinner for all the 6th formers and this year was no different. The theme for this year's dinner was "Masquerade Misterioso" so the ladies came decked in their beautiful dresses and masks and the gentlemen in their suits and masks.
Unfortunately there were no masks available in the local stores where I live to match my dress and I wouldn't have enough time to ship one and I'm not the best person for DIY activities so I just went without one. Here is a picture of the dress I wore.
The dress was designed by my sister (JhoBa) and made by my dress maker. The shoes are Pierre Dumas (I found them at Exquisite Boutique on Midway Mall), my nails were done at Creative Nails on Brumalia Town Centre and I think the accessories are from Maxie Department Store (2 years ago)
I apologize for the quality, it was taken with a phone. My make up was done by my friend Sacha. Go view her blog! (sachahenry24.blogspot.com) She's a make up artist in training and she's really good!
I had hoped that I would've had more pictures to show you but unfortunately they have not yet been posted and I really wanted to do my post so that's that.
Overall it was a good, funny evening spent with friends, although we didn't get to have our dancing segment   :( but C'est la vie right!
All the best for the Season everyone and remember Jesus is the reason for the Season, never forget that!
Thanks for reading loves!

The Most Frustrating Time of the Year-Exam Time

Hey guys! For the past two weeks I've been doing what is called Modular exams at my school. It's where the students are tested on all the topics in the modules of the syllabus that have been completed. Trust me, there are A LOT of topics in one module so imagine TWO! As is expected, students often get frustrated at this time of the year. I know because I got fed up quite a few times with a couple subjects. Although I hate doing exams I know I have to do them and here are a couple tips that can help you through your exam periods:

  1. Stop complaining. You know you have to do it, so study hard and you will succeed. You have to be positive about your exams. If you speak failure into your life, YOU WILL FAIL, so be POSITIVE.
  2. Pray about it. If you pray and ask the Lord to help you while you are studying and while you are doing your exams, he will. TRUST ME.
  3. Do not stress yourself too much. If you do so you will get tired very easily and you may have head aches and tummy aches among other things. Try to keep calm while studying.
  4. Drink water to keep yourself hydrated.
  5.  If you study best in groups gather a group of friends who you know will study and not goof off and you will be good to go. You can assign each person a different topic to present on at each group meeting. You will learn a lot from your friends,  maybe even more than you do from your teachers.
  6.  Make attractive study cards. Write the most important points about the topic on your study cards and decorate them. Make them attractive so that you will want to study from them. For those of you who have photographic memory you may even be able to picture the study cards while you are in the exams :D
  7.  Talk to yourself and your family members. Pretend that you are a teacher and your class is the mirror. Talk to yourself in the mirror, you may just remember saying something while you are doing your paper. Or you can teach your family and question them. This method helps you to understand the topics even better.

Those are all the study tips I can think of now guys, all the best in your exams (although most of you have already finished doing them). Remember to be positive, study hard, pray about it and you will be just fine.

Love,
Toni xxx
